Description
We are seeking an AVP of Operations to join our team in Boca Raton, Florida. This role is critical in managing and improving our operational systems, processes, and policies. The AVP of Operations will be involved in various functions such as database management, EO/IR systems, optimization, accounting, and customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the company's performance and ensuring the smooth running of our day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the overall operational activities of the organization.
• Lead the optimization of operational processes and procedures to ensure efficiency.
• Manage the company's database ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained.
• Lead the implementation and management of EO/IR systems.
• Oversee the company's accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Direct the operational aspects of the company's banking operations, including compliance and customer service.
• Manage hedge fund and futures trading operations.
• Oversee hedge accounting procedures and ensure they are in line with financial regulations.
• Play a pivotal role in driving customer service excellence across the organization.
• Use Microsoft Excel to analyze operational data, create reports, and support decision-making processes.A small and growing Hedge Fund is looking for a hands-on, highly motivated Director of Accounting and Operations that can manage various aspects of the company’s business, including accounting and financial statement preparation, operations, regulatory compliance, trading analysis, back-office trade reconciliation, and some client interaction. The candidate is expected to grow with the developing opportunities and complexities of a growing business.
Objectives of this Role and Responsibilities
Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and operations strategy.
Manage the day-to-day accounting functions and transactions of the business, including creating financial statements.
Coordinate with outside service providers for tax preparation.
Ensure compliance with regulators and take appropriate action when necessary.
Handle the onboarding and compliance interaction with new and existing clients.
Prepare and maintain trading performance reports and coordinate with outside performance accountants.
Complete timely daily back-office trading reconciliation with broker statements.
Participate in various aspects of research and trading analysis.
Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO.
Monitor trading performance with tracking software and determine corrective measures when necessary, preparing detailed updates and analysis.
Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
10 or more years of experience in accounting and financial analysis, with a focus on futures trading in a hedge fund environment.
CPA license is a must.
Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
