Robert Half Financial Controller in Boca Raton, Florida
Description
We are aviation service organization, looking for a meticulous and strategic Financial Controller to join our team in Boca Raton, Florida. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. This role also entails managing financial risk.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
• Directing and coordinating the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and reporting variances.
• Preparing and publishing monthly financial statements in a timely manner.
• Researching technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.
• Supporting the month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Performing additional controller duties as necessary.
• Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Requirements • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role or in the field of finance
• Proficient in Annual Financial Reporting and Annual Audited Financial Statements
• Strong ability to Analyze Financial Statements
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Capable of performing Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
• Experienced in Month End Close operations
• Skilled in Budgeting and Forecasting, as well as Cash Forecasting
• Familiarity with Forecasting & Modeling techniques
• Proficiency in Tax Reporting, including Monthly Sales Tax, Sales Tax, and Sales Tax Returns
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience with financial software systems is a plus.
