Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Boca Raton, Florida

Description Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our billing department. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims, managing patient billing records, and ensuring compliance with insurance regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities: Review and accurately code medical procedures, diagnoses, and services for billing purposes. Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies, government agencies, and other third-party payers. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, identify and resolve billing discrepancies, and appeal claims as necessary. Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to service delivery. Generate patient statements and invoices, and assist patients with billing inquiries and payment arrangements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records, including demographic information, insurance details, and billing history. Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and other staff members to ensure accurate and timely billing practices. Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies affecting medical billing practices. Assist with month-end closing procedures, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports related to billing activities. Requirements Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a medical biller in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Understanding of insurance billing procedures, reimbursement methodologies, and claim submission requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare providers. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Certified detail oriented Biller (CPB) certification preferred.
