Robert Half Staff Accountant in Boerne, Texas

This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Other responsibilities include internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. What you get to do every day
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Reconcile month end balance sheet accounts
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Efficient in ERP systems
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Annual Physical Inventories experience
Deep understanding of journal entries
Command of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Experience with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables
Month end closings experience
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
