Description

Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant in Boise, Idaho. The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all project-related financial activities. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to maintain financial integrity and support project success.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts.

  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential risks.

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable for projects.

  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, billing, and payment processing.

  • Reconcile project accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Assist project managers in preparing and reviewing project budgets and cost estimates.

  • Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.

  • Collaborate with procurement and contract management teams to ensure proper financial documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

  • Prepare and submit required financial reports to management and stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.

Requirements

  • Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, or similar).

  • Understanding of construction project management processes and terminology.

  • Familiarity with cost accounting and job costing principles.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
