Robert Half Network Administrator in Bolingbrook, Illinois

Description

We are offering a third shift, short-term contract employment opportunity for a Network Administrator in the Wholesale Distribution industry, based in BOLINGBROOK, Illinois. This role involves remotely collaborating with onsite technicians to upgrade the network stack, including wireless access points, switches, firewalls, and server rack changes. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to apply their firsthand experience and creative troubleshooting skills in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities:

• Guide onsite technicians through the process of upgrading the network stack remotely

• Install and move devices within a rack based on requirements

• Utilize network device-based skills for effective operation

• Apply knowledge of subnetting and IP Schema for troubleshooting purposes

• Ensure reliable home internet access for seamless remote working

• Oversee obstacles that may arise during the network upgrade process

• Utilize Microsoft, Computer Hardware, Aruba, Racking, IP Subnetting, and Meraki skills effectively

• Abstain from taking any time off during the deployment window

• Adapt to changes and unexpected situations with creativity and innovation.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft products, including but not limited to, Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and Office 365.

• Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining computer hardware systems.

• Familiarity with Aruba wireless systems and the ability to troubleshoot any issues.

• Proficiency in racking and stacking of network hardware and the ability to perform physical installations of network devices.

• Knowledge of IP subnetting including the ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot IP subnets.

• Experience with Meraki cloud-managed IT solutions, including wireless, switching, security, and mobile device management.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to resolve network issues.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interfacing with various departments.

• Ability to work independently and in a team to meet deadlines and achieve company goals.

• Commitment to staying up to date with the latest advancements in network technology and best practices.

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for network support.
