Robert Half International Cost Accountant in Bolton, Massachusetts
Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to maintain the accuracy and reliability of BOMs and Routings in ERP
Investigates, analyzes and illustrates costs and variances; Manufacturing, Raw Materials, Freight, Make, Buy, Inventory, Labor utilization, and Service areas to fully understand and target opportunities across the facility.
Accountability of daily, weekly and monthly operational reports focusing on Key Performance Indicators.
Drive root cause analysis and innovative problem-solving which impact our costs across the organization.
Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis for all inventory related activities including material consumption, labor and overhead.
Performs settlement process to cost inventory production
Assists in the development of direct labor and overhead rates used for annual standard cost rolls.
Analyzes aged, obsolete, and excess inventory to establish reserves in accordance with corporate policy.
Maintains fixed assets ledgers and monitors status of capital projects to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Investigates and analyzes balance sheet transactions for accuracy utilizing financial understanding to trace to source data and validate transactions.
Investigates, analyzes, and classifies transactions from various company entities for reporting in compliance with GAAP.
Coordinates with IT department for system issues, maintenance, and development such as production, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, receiving, shipping, and other.
Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (essential).
At least three to five years of cost accounting work experience (essential).
Working knowledge of ERP required; ERP super-user preferred
Sound understanding of accounting principles.
Solid understanding of costing systems; able to participate in time-and-motion studies and populate BOM and Router to create a Costed Manufacturing Bill
Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent report-writing, verbal communication, and technical skills.
Must have experience working in manufacturing environment; time spent on shop floor, setting standard costs, variance analysis, cost of WIP and Cost of Quality metrics
Demonstrable financial modeling skills; Excel, Pivot Tables, Business Intelligence software
