Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Borger, Texas

Description We are inviting applications for the role of Sr. Accountant, based in Borger, Texas. This role falls within the manufacturing industry and will necessitate the successful candidate to verify and reconcile plant site production, work closely with the Project Engineering team on Capital Projects, and handle all asset accounting treatments. You will also be responsible for completing all work required to close the month-end on a timely basis, maintaining balance sheet accounts, and working with internal and external auditors.

Responsibilities:

• Verification and reconciliation of plant site production by product

• Collaboration with the Project Engineering team on Capital Projects and handling all asset accounting treatments

• Completion of all tasks required for period end closes in a timely manner

• Ensuring Balance Sheet Accounts are effectively analyzed and managed

• Inventory verifications of physical assets, raw and finished product inventory

• Upholding and implementing required internal controls

• Completion of quarterly plant certifications

• Identification of correct accounting treatments for day-to-day transactions to complex contracts and special projects

• Participation in policy alignment initiatives and implementation

• Continuous improvement of processes through automation and participation or leadership in improvement projects Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar position

• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience in month-end close procedures

• Familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is essential

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is preferred

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
