Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a role for an Accounting Specialist in the education sector, based in Boston, Massachusetts. This position involves managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, and communicating effectively with vendors. The role also encompasses managing electronic invoicing and transposing data into specific formats.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all electronic invoicing, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.

• Manage all reporting, ensuring that data from various sources is accurately integrated and recorded.

• Transpose data from Excel documents into CSV files for easy integration into other systems.

• Work collaboratively with the AP Specialist to ensure accurate invoice processing.

• Monitor a shared vendor inbox, ensuring that all communications are promptly and appropriately addressed.

• Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve any issues with missing items or errors.

• Leverage strong Excel skills to manage and manipulate data effectively.

• Utilize various accounting software systems such as ADP - Financial Services, Concur, Great Plains (GPAC) and Microsoft Excel to perform tasks.

• Carry out various accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing Functions, and Check Processing. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with Concur

• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC)

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Billing Functions

• Experience in Check Processing

• Must have a strong understanding of education industry accounting practices

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information

• Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner

• Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
