Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in BOSTON, Massachusetts
Description If you're looking for Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk work, we have a job opening for a self-starting and detail-oriented candidate! This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Boston, Massachusetts area. As part of their duties, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. Major responsibilities
Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment
Offer information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Corroborate documents and codes
Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
Execute a range of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers Requirements - 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Experience with ERP systems
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
Command of Credit Card Reconciliation
Customer service experience
Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
