Robert Half Commercial Underwriter (Insurance) in Boston, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a unique opportunity for a Mortgage Underwriter in the insurance sector, situated in Boston, Massachusetts. This role primarily focuses on underwriting commercial insurance policies, carrying out audits, and maintaining compliance with underwriting guidelines. This role provides an opportunity to contribute towards our team's efficiency in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Claims Audit Team in evaluating underwriting files for compliance with underwriting guidelines, authorities, process, and service standards.

• Carry out multi-scope audits and assist in analysis of the audit review.

• Communicate report findings to the contracting client in coordination with the Director of Underwriting and Claims Services.

• Utilize your commercial underwriting experience to ensure efficient and accurate processing of insurance policies.

• Leverage your strong analytical skills to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions.

• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients and team members.

• Use your organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

• Utilize your knowledge of Commercial Insurance, Underwriting, and Audit to contribute to team success.

• Stay updated with industry trends and changes to ensure compliance with all regulations and guidelines.

• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure a seamless service experience for clients. Requirements • Possess expertise in Commercial Insurance

• Demonstrated experience in Underwriting

• Proficiency in conducting Audit tasks

• Understanding of the Insurance industry

• Proven experience as a Mortgage Underwriter

• Ability to analyze and make decisions based on complex data

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal loan regulations

• Familiarity with various types of loans and credit scoring systems

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
