Job Title: Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive and efficient administrative support to a team of attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing various legal documents including contracts, briefs, court papers, and appeals.

  2. Coordinating and scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings.

  3. Management of attorney calendars, ensuring all deadlines are met accordingly.

  4. Gathering relevant information and documentation from various sources.

  5. Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other third parties.

  6. Organizing, securing, and maintaining all files, records, correspondence, and other documents.

  7. General office duties such as answering phones, photocopying, mailing, filing, typing, and creating spreadsheets.

  8. Drafting and typing office memos and creating professional correspondences.

  9. Assisting other team members as needed or required.

    Requirements - Solid understanding of Precedents

  • Legal Assistant experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Part-Time Receptionist

  • Strong familiarity with Receptionist Duties

  • Legal files experience

  • Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information

  • Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions

  • Conducting routine discovery

  • Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database

  • Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
