Robert Half Sr. Manager or Accounting Manager - BIOTECH in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

I have partnered with a local biotech looking for an experienced Senior Manager or Manager for their Accounting department to lead their month-end close process and provide support for technical accounting, SEC / SOX compliances. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing biotech firm, recognized for its unique culture. They are on a hybrid office schedule. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.

  • Lead, manage, and streamline month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Review, interpret and apply financial reporting, tax and regulatory standards (SEC / SOX).

  • Handle complex accounting transactions, including revenue recognition, cost accounting, stock-based compensation, and lease accounting.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.

  • Develop, improve, and monitor accounting policies and procedures.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field. A Master's Degree or CPA certification is a plus.

  • A minimum of 6-10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in biotech or related industry.

  • Strong understanding of accounting theory, GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a dedication to fostering team collaboration.
