A law firm located in downtown Boston has an immediately available Trust & Estates Paralegal position
Requirements
Job duties include Trust Administration, Tax Preparation as well as General & Administrative duties:
Collection of trust income, payment of trust bills, and preparation of distributions to trust beneficiaries
Overseeing of daily operations of custodial bank, including deposits and check requests
Handling all aspects of trade securities processing including interfacing with investment advisor, broker and custodial bank, ordering sales or purchases of securities and preparation of trade sheets
Maintaining records of account performance relative to objective standards
Maintenance of continuous client contact and handling of client relations issues such as telephone correspondence and email correspondence and keeping the trustee informed of client’s needs
Prepare: Form 1041 fiduciary tax returns for trusts and estates, form 1040 Personal tax returns for individuals and quarterly estimated taxes for trusts and individuals
Review capital gains to adjust quarterly estimated tax payments
Record daily billable time, and review / edit bill performas monthly
+Print, copy and pay final monthly bills
Calculate trustees’ fees on an annual basis, request checks from custodial bank and complete deposit form for billing department
File case documents in an organized manner
Organize, scan, copy and fax legal documents
Update and organize electronic and physical files
