Robert Half Staff Accountant in Boulder, Colorado
Description We are recruiting a Staff Accountant to join our team in Boulder, Colorado. In this role, you will be responsible for managing month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing and analyzing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role also includes audit support, tax compliance, process improvement, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting.
Responsibilities:
• Managing the end of month and year closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement and providing insights to support strategic planning.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, and staying updated on changes in accounting principles.
• Coordinating and supporting external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations during audit processes.
• Coordinating and supporting external tax requests, providing necessary documentation, and explanations.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
• Assisting in providing detail for the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Managing the process of payroll tax compliance, responding to payroll tax inquiries/notices, and obtaining payroll tax accounts as needed.
• Overseeing the process of accounts payable and accounts receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger and journal entries. Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations
• Experience with bank reconciliations
• Knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entries
• Ability to handle month-end close procedures
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP accounting software
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Commitment to ethical behavior and adherence to accounting standards and regulations
• Willingness to continuously improve and update accounting knowledge and skills.
