Robert Half DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN in Bridgeport, Connecticut
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Desktop Support Technician in the Healthcare/NHS industry, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In this role, you will be tasked with several responsibilities, primarily revolving around the installation, repair, and maintenance of microcomputers and peripheral equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Configure and deploy mobile devices as part of the device deployment process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues pertaining to local hardware, applications, and network problems.
• Execute installation, repair, and maintenance tasks for microcomputers and peripheral equipment.
• Maintain vigilance for security threats, non-compliant activities, and system anomalies.
• Coordinate the efficient repair or replacement of defective equipment to ensure optimal functionality of computer hardware and peripherals.
• Maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions with customers and team members.
• Inspect equipment, associated peripherals, and wiring for signs of potential failure.
• Ensure thorough resolution of problems by distinguishing between local hardware, application, and network issues.
• Leverage your working knowledge of remote access tools for problem resolution.
• Install commercial and specialized software applications, adhering strictly to internal policies, procedures, and best practices. Requirements • Possession of strong customer service skills to effectively communicate and interact with different stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner
• Understanding of standard office functions and procedures
• Familiarity with configuration management and defect management
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows Operating Systems
• Experience in working with vendors and executing best practices
• Familiarity with Active Directory and Deskside Support
• Willingness to travel to different facilities as required
• Knowledge of compliance functions and policies within the healthcare industry
• Proficiency in interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suites and ability to learn new software quickly
• Experience with MS Windows and Active Directory
• Ability to adhere to best practices in all work processes
• Understanding of the healthcare facility operations and procedures
