Robert Half Collections Specialist in Bronx, New York
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Collections Specialist for our team located in BRONX, New York. This role involves managing a portfolio of clients within the food distribution industry. The position provides a short term contract employment opportunity where you will be expected to handle high volume customer contact primarily via email and phone.
Responsibilities:
• Engage in regular contact with clients to manage their accounts
• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Utilize your skills in collections to ensure the timely payment of customer accounts
• Conduct detailed monitoring of customer accounts to identify and address any potential issues
• Use your knowledge of excel and JDE Edwards to maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records
• Ensure the efficient and accurate processing of customer credit applications
• Maintain high standards of customer service and communication at all times. Requirements • Proven experience in a Collections Specialist role or similar position
• Familiarity with laws related to debt collection (e.g. FDCPA)
• Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Aptitude for negotiation and persuasion
• Highly reliable and committed to ensuring a positive customer experience
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• High school diploma; Associate's/Bachelor’s degree is a plus
• Professional certification (e.g. Certified Credit and Collection Specialist) is a plus
• Must possess a keen attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
