Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Bronx, New York

Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant in Bronx, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. In this capacity, you will be responsible for various accounting functions, general ledger management, and financial transactions reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end accounting processes to finalize and close out all financial activities

• Review, document, and carefully reconcile previous month's financial transactions

• Ensure prompt closure of revenue, expense, liability, and asset accounts

• Prepare comprehensive supporting schedules for annual audits

• Analyze financial information across various programs and provide detailed reports to finance staff and program management

• Record precise general ledger entries

• Develop and maintain cost allocation schedules

• Handle accounts payable and receivable

• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations

• Utilize software like Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for accounting tasks

• Analyze financial statements and manage the general ledger system

• Ability to Analyze Financial Statements

• Experience with General Ledger System

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses

• High level of critical thinking and problem solving skills

• Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
