Job Title: Accounting Manager

Company Overview: Our client is a rapidly growing consumer product goods company, operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of a parent company headquartered in Europe. As they navigate through this exciting period of expansion, they are seeking an Accounting Manager who can not only oversee the intricacies of financial compliance but also navigate the nuances of cultural differences and time zone challenges inherent to their global operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultural Intelligence: Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and adaptability within the office, particularly in bridging the gap between U.S. and foreign compliance standards and practices.

  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, both in the U.S. and abroad, collaborating closely with the company's external CPA firm, while leading compliance efforts within the U.S. subsidiary.

  • Team Management: Lead and manage a multifunctional accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability, with a focus on service leadership and supporting the professional development of team members.

  • Process Improvement: Drive process improvements and standardization initiatives, particularly in transitioning between accounting platforms.

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including accounts payable and receivable, cash management, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial activities.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, particularly with Sales, to track and control promotional spending, manage cash flow, and support strategic decision-making.

  • Global Collaboration: Flexibility to travel abroad for collaborative sessions between U.S. operations and the parent company.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the fast-moving consumer goods industry.

  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and compliance requirements in the U.S.

  • Experience managing multi-functional teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Resilient, with high emotional intelligence and patience to navigate cultural differences and time zone challenges.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, with a willingness to put in long hours as needed, particularly during month-end closings.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally and internationally.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $90,000-110,000 annually, plus a performance-based bonus

  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and potential for career advancement within a rapidly growing organization.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with flexibility to accommodate month-end closings and international collaboration.

  • On-site role: This position requires presence in the office, with occasional travel abroad for collaborative sessions (annually, if that).
