Robert Half Receptionist in Brooklyn, New York

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist in the healthcare industry. This role will be based in BROOKLYN, New York, and is a contract employment opportunity. As a receptionist, you will assist in maintaining smooth and efficient operations, while providing exceptional service to our clients and team.

Responsibilities:

• Answer inbound calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.

• Greet visitors, ascertain the purpose of their visit, and direct them accordingly.

• Maintain a professional and clean reception area to uphold the organization's image.

• Handle administrative duties such as sorting mail, maintaining records, and managing appointments.

• Collaborate with the team to ensure operations are running smoothly and efficiently.

• Provide information about the organization, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.

• Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, and issuing visitor badges.

• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Assist in maintaining office inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.

• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Requirements

• Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar role within the Healthcare/NHS industry.

• Proficiency in managing multiple lines and answering inbound calls efficiently.

• Familiarity with office systems and procedures, including filing and record keeping.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors, and staff.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in busy or stressful situations, demonstrating patience and empathy.

• Knowledge of patient confidentiality principles and medical terminology is desirable.

• Proficient in using computer systems for data entry, and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends, if required.

• A high level of attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.

• Commitment to providing a high standard of customer service.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required; further education in Office Administration or a related field would be a plus.
