Description We are on the hunt for a detail-oriented Attorney to join our team in Brunswick, Maine. The Attorney will be primarily engaged in Civil Litigation, specifically on the Plaintiff side, and will also handle matters related to Insurance and court attendances. This role offers an exciting opportunity to those who have an active Bar license in the state of Maine. Please note this role is 100% remote but you must be barred in Maine and commutable to a Maine Court.
Responsibilities: • Actively engage in Civil Litigation tasks, ensuring all cases are handled professionally and ethically. • Represent clients in court proceedings, showcasing excellent advocacy skills. • Utilize your experience in Insurance law to provide sound legal advice and support to clients. • Maintain an active Bar license in the state of Maine, adhering to all detail oriented standards and regulations. • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure all client cases are effectively managed. • Keep up-to-date with current legal practices and changes in law that may affect client cases. • Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed about case progress. • Exhibit strong attention to detail in managing client records and processing legal documents. • Ensure all legal actions taken align with the firm's policies and ethical standards. • Leverage your litigation skills to deliver successful outcomes for our clients. Requirements • Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Should be a licensed attorney and in good standing with the state Bar.
• Requires a minimum of three years of experience in the legal field, preferably with a focus on civil litigation.
• Demonstrated experience in civil litigation is necessary, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Experience as a litigation attorney, managing all aspects of the litigation process from investigation, pleadings and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
• Proficiency in legal research and ability to draft legal documents with precision and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act decisively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal arguments clearly and effectively.
• High ethical standards and detail oriented integrity, with a commitment to uphold and enforce the law.
• Experience in subrogation is a plus, including the ability to analyze insurance policies and determine potential subrogation opportunities.
• Capability to handle multiple cases simultaneously, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Must be proficient in the use of legal software and technology for case management, legal research, and trial preparation.
• Willingness to stay updated on new laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the practice of civil litigation.
• Must be able to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to the detail oriented code of conduct for attorneys.
