Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Buffalo, New York

Description We are in search of a diligent Accounting Manager/Supervisor to guide our team in Buffalo, New York. In this role, you will be managing the operations of our Finance & Accounting Department, ensuring the efficient execution of financial management tasks, and fostering the development of our team. This position is crucial for maintaining the financial health and regulatory compliance of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports such as balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable and receivable, business reports, financial forecasts, and statements

• Understand and monitor each program's activities, outcomes, and the contractual obligations of each grant and funder supporting each program

• Manage the week-to-week operations of the Finance & Accounting department to ensure efficiency and effectiveness

• Control the flow of cash to meet the financial, investment, and organizational needs of the agency

• Facilitate the annual budget preparation process and consistently monitor budget performance

• Collaborate with the CFO to implement policies, processes, systems, and procedures for financial operations, analysis, and reporting

• Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure full compliance in financial and accounting operations

• Build and maintain respectful, trusting, and supportive relationships with finance and accounting team members

• Develop successful working relationships with program directors and program staff members

• Ensure all team members are trained and coached to use financial software effectively and efficiently. Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor.

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services.

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions.

• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC).

• Ability to oversee various Accounting Functions.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Knowledge and experience in Auditing processes.

• Familiarity with Billing Functions.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
