Description
Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a growing company that is seeking a dedicated and skilled Buyer-Planner to join their team! In this Buyer-Planner role, you will work closely with Fleet Maintenance Operations to review and process purchase requisitions, manage inventory and ensure a continuous supply of materials. As a Buyer-Planner, you will also engage with both maintenance and purchasing supervision to support sourcing plans and execute tactical actions within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Operations to process purchase requisitions of materials/services accurately and in a timely manner
Engage with suppliers for basic negotiations and pricing oversight to ensure a competitive supply chain
Collaborate with buying/planning team, maintenance staff, and suppliers on warranty recovery
Facilitate inventory systems set by the procurement organization
Monitor and manage inventory of purchased components within assigned areas of responsibility, including year-end inventory reconciliation
Comply with the organization’s standard purchase terms and conditions, and continuously communicate these requirements to suppliers
Assist maintenance technicians with parts dispensing to fulfill repair work-orders and perform inventory reconciliation
Handle additional duties assigned by management as needed
Utilize ERP systems to manage purchasing and material planning processes
Use strong analytical skills to aggregate and analyze large data sets related to purchasing and inventory management
Requirements
Proficiency in ERP systems
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Previous experience in a Buyer role or similar position
Knowledge of purchasing functions, including purchasing materials and procurement
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
