Description

Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a growing company that is seeking a dedicated and skilled Buyer-Planner to join their team! In this Buyer-Planner role, you will work closely with Fleet Maintenance Operations to review and process purchase requisitions, manage inventory and ensure a continuous supply of materials. As a Buyer-Planner, you will also engage with both maintenance and purchasing supervision to support sourcing plans and execute tactical actions within the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Operations to process purchase requisitions of materials/services accurately and in a timely manner

  • Engage with suppliers for basic negotiations and pricing oversight to ensure a competitive supply chain

  • Collaborate with buying/planning team, maintenance staff, and suppliers on warranty recovery

  • Facilitate inventory systems set by the procurement organization

  • Monitor and manage inventory of purchased components within assigned areas of responsibility, including year-end inventory reconciliation

  • Comply with the organization’s standard purchase terms and conditions, and continuously communicate these requirements to suppliers

  • Assist maintenance technicians with parts dispensing to fulfill repair work-orders and perform inventory reconciliation

  • Handle additional duties assigned by management as needed

  • Utilize ERP systems to manage purchasing and material planning processes

  • Use strong analytical skills to aggregate and analyze large data sets related to purchasing and inventory management

    Requirements

  • Proficiency in ERP systems

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Previous experience in a Buyer role or similar position

  • Knowledge of purchasing functions, including purchasing materials and procurement

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
