This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. The ideal candidate for this position can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. Candidates who are creative team players with a talent for challenging the status quo, coming up with unique ideas, negotiating and influencing will be preferred for this position. Your responsibilities
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
CPA or MBA preferred
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Deep understanding of Financial Statement
Command of Manage Budgets
Annual Budget experience desired
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
