Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry in Buffalo, New York. The primary duties of this role will include tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and assisting with month and year-end processes. This role is also involved in financial analysis and requires a keen eye for detail, particularly when coding transactions.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and ensure all bills are coded and billed accurately
• Handle accounts receivable duties
• Maintain the General Ledger and perform regular journal entries
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations
• Assist the Controller with month and year-end processes
• Handle financial analysis statement work as required
• Ensure all costs are correctly processed into the asset side of the ledger
• Work closely with suppliers and handle materials procurement through the Purchase Order system
Requirements
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Competence in maintaining General Ledger
• Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Must have a degree in Accounting or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong knowledge of construction/contractor industry is a plus.
