Robert Half International Human Resources (HR) Manager in Burbank, California


A local media content firm is seeking an HR Manager! This firm does business with many of the larger studios, hosting content for these studios as well managing public relations. The firm was formed with the goal to deliver quality commercial video content to its target clientele, the firm maintains confidentiality & security of all content distributed and is certified to do so by the MPAA. If you are looking to gain a better insight into the media distribution industry, this could be the role for you! The firm is seeking an HR Manager to help with the following responsibilities:

Primary Duties

-Processing a bi‐weekly payroll for 50‐75 employees. Administers all compensation changes

including raises, bonuses, and commissions. Maintains and updates all employee records.

-Administer various employee benefits programs including medical, dental and vision, and


-Administer the company 401(k) and FSA plans, participates along with CPAs on annual 401(k)

audit when applicable.

-Manages the staffing process including recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding. Works with

department managers to create job descriptions and find qualified candidates. Conducts new

hire orientations and termination exit interviews.

-Regularly reviews local, state, and federal laws and regulations and recommends policies and

procedures to ensure company’s compliance.

-Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution. Maintains

confidentiality related to HR issues and employs best practices in documentation.

-Submits any work related injuries to the Workers Compensation Carrier, maintains records and

tracks claims and resolutions. Works with the Workers Compensation carrier on annual audits.


-Strong working knowledge of online payroll administration/payroll applications (ADP, Paychex) as well

as proficiency with MS Office products, especially Word and Excel.

-Minimum 4‐8 year experience in Human Resources.

-Strong communication skills both verbal and written (spelling/grammar). Comfortable with speaking to

company executives and officers.

-Ability to self‐manage and take ownership of the HR process
