The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Burbank, California area, this company is offering a long-term contract / temporary opportunity that's sure to challenge as well as reward effort.
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Strong attention to detail
Solid understanding of navigating basic office equipment and protocols
Efficient in ERP systems
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
