Robert Half International Full Charge Bookkeeper in Burlington, Massachusetts

Description There is a Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity with growth potential open for candidates who multi-task effectively and have strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Accountemps is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper, and you might be the perfect candidate. This long-term temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Burlington, Massachusetts. If you're comfortable with establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, you could be a good candidate for this position.


  • Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules

  • Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring adherence to them, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

  • Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

  • Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

  • Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records

  • Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll Requirements - Prior payroll experience preferred

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred

  • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Proven knowledge of Full Charge Bookkeeping

  • General ledger experience required

  • Proficiency in month end closings

  • Well-founded grasp of bookkeeping

  • Sage 300 experience

  • Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

    • Earlier work involving Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
