Robert Half Cost Accountant in Burlington, North Carolina
Description
We are seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our client in Burlington, North Carolina. In this role, you will primarily focus on determining costs within the revenue recognition stream, designing and verifying system-generated reports, and ensuring the use of accurate, timely data for qualitative analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Designing and verifying the accuracy of reports generated from the system
• Establishing and maintaining standard costs for all new products throughout the year
• Ensuring accurate loading of correct coding for parts sold
• Overseeing rules for Customer Order Management (COM) and Inventory Management (IM) within the system
• Conducting annual roll of cost standards and booking standard cost revaluation
• Generating and researching Material Price Variance reports on a weekly and monthly basis
• Reporting Perpetual Inventory to senior leadership team weekly
• Maintaining General Ledger and inventory count of product at consignment locations
• Preparing and reporting Monthly Sales, Cost of Sales, and Inventory
• Conducting monthly preparation of journal entries related to Material Price Variance, cost of sales, and inventory adjustments
• Assigning accounts for Inventory Movements monthly
• Correcting accounts in Inventory Management prior to posting
• Posting all inventory transactions on a monthly basis
• Reporting vendor packaging consignment activity monthly
• Annually booking physical inventory results and reporting year-end inventory balances
• Preparing budget schedules for vacation, holiday, and physical inventory inputs
• Scheduling fringe and personnel allocation calculations
• Calculating annual labor and overhead rates for standard costing
• Conducting wire transfer payments for international vendors, Intercompany locations, and special vendors.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Must possess experience with ADP - Financial Services.
• Familiarity with Crystal Reports is necessary.
• Knowledge of Epicor is essential.
• Must have understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.
• Ability to manage Accounting Functions is required.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.
• Auditing skills are essential.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required.
• Must be able to manage Cash Activity.
