Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Burnsville, Minnesota
Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Administrator to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position will actively support the HR department with a particular focus on onboarding tasks to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into our construction team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in recruitment processes by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and collecting necessary documentation from candidates.
Coordinate onboarding activities, including organizing orientation sessions, preparing and distributing welcome packages, and assisting new hires with paperwork.
Work closely with the HR team to implement HR policies, procedures and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws.
Maintain an up-to-date employee database, ensuring that all HR records are correctly entered and updated in the HR system.
Provide assistance in benefits administration including enrolling new hires in benefit plans, responding to employee inquiries on benefit programs, and liaising with benefit providers.
Support in payroll administration by verifying timesheets, processing payroll data, and coordinating with the payroll department to resolve any discrepancies.
Assist with external and internal audits related to human resources as required.
Handle sensitive employee data with confidentiality and ensure it is stored in line with company policy and legal requirements.
Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
Proven experience in an HR administrative or HR Assistant role, preferably in a construction or related industry.
Solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
Excellent organization skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRIS systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
