Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Burnsville, Minnesota

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Administrator to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position will actively support the HR department with a particular focus on onboarding tasks to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into our construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruitment processes by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and collecting necessary documentation from candidates.

  • Coordinate onboarding activities, including organizing orientation sessions, preparing and distributing welcome packages, and assisting new hires with paperwork.

  • Work closely with the HR team to implement HR policies, procedures and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws.

  • Maintain an up-to-date employee database, ensuring that all HR records are correctly entered and updated in the HR system.

  • Provide assistance in benefits administration including enrolling new hires in benefit plans, responding to employee inquiries on benefit programs, and liaising with benefit providers.

  • Support in payroll administration by verifying timesheets, processing payroll data, and coordinating with the payroll department to resolve any discrepancies.

  • Assist with external and internal audits related to human resources as required.

  • Handle sensitive employee data with confidentiality and ensure it is stored in line with company policy and legal requirements.

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.

  • Proven experience in an HR administrative or HR Assistant role, preferably in a construction or related industry.

  • Solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.

  • Excellent organization skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRIS systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
