Robert Half Hybrid - Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist in Burnsville, Minnesota

Description

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented, reliable Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's accounting team on a contract basis. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This position is hybrid and is expected to be between 4-6+ months in duration.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment processing, and resolution of discrepancies.

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, approval, coding, and data entry.

  • Prioritize payments according to cash discount potential and payment terms.

  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a time-sensitive manner.

  • Produce monthly reports and maintain Accounts Payable files and records diligently.

  • Reconcile payable reports each month to confirm account balance.

  • Assist in the implementation of improvements to the accounts payable process.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Proven working experience as an accounts payable specialist.

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs.

  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

  • Excellent data entry skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.

This part-time position requires a commitment of approximately 20-25 hours per week. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to manage their time and responsibilities effectively. Flexibility to adapt to any changes in schedule or job duties is crucial.
