Robert Half Staff Accountant in Burnsville, Minnesota

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team, based in Burnsville, Minnesota. The role primarily involves traditional corporate accounting tasks within the telecom provider industry. The successful candidate will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties efficiently

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process

• Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues relating to the accounts

• Adhere to financial policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements

• Collaborate effectively with the team to achieve financial objectives

• Manage and track financial transactions, ensuring all are accurately recorded in the accounting system

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function. Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is mandatory.

• At least one year of experience in an accounting role is necessary.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations effectively.

• Familiarity with General Ledger management.

• Experience in making Journal Entries is crucial.

• Must be able to handle tasks related to Month End Close efficiently.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and uphold professional ethics.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
