Description Robert Half has an opportunity for someone with a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department to become a Controller at a reputable company. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services, will be preferred for this position. What you get to do every day

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations

  • Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements - Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance

  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
