Robert Half HR Generalist in Calumet Park, Illinois

Description We are seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team in the construction industry, based in Calumet Park, Illinois. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves administering and managing company processes and systems to facilitate a high-performance culture. The individual will be responsible for various HR functions including recruitment, compliance, employee relations, and marketing outreach.

Responsibilities:

• Administer, manage, and update the company's hiring processes and HRIS system to recruit and hire a talented team

• Partner with leaders to assess staffing needs, create/update job descriptions, and track open positions

• Conduct screening and interviews of position candidates and serve as part of the interview team as required

• Ensure the company HRIS system is consistently and accurately maintained with all new hire information

• Work directly with company legal counsel in HR matters and policy, and facilitate all required cyclical compliance trainings

• Formulate and recommend Human Resources policies and objectives for the company on any topic associated with employee relations and employee rights

• Stay current with Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments

• Manage the Employee Service Recognition program, organize team-building activities, and communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws to management

• Identify and monitor the organization's culture to support the attainment of the company's goals and promote employee satisfaction

• Manage global marketing platform to create and maintain strong branding for the companies, and consistently maintain a positive company image on social media.

Skills required include HRMS, Benefit Functions, Compensation Administration, Employee Relations, HRIS - Human Resources Info Systems, Conduct Interviews, Human Resources Management System, Human Resources (HR) Administration, and Construction. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a HR Generalist role, preferably in the construction or contractor industry.

• Proficiency in HRMS (Human Resources Management System) and HRIS (Human Resources Info Systems) technologies.

• Demonstrated experience with benefit functions and compensation administration.

• Proven expertise in managing employee relations.

• Ability to conduct interviews and contribute to hiring decisions.

• Knowledge of Human Resources (HR) Administration processes.

• Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

• Current knowledge of employment laws and regulations, labor relations, and best HR practices.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to make sound decisions based on data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Proven leadership skills and ability to foster teamwork.

• Certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
