Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Calverton, New York

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in our CALVERTON, New York office. As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing payroll operations, ensuring accurate calculations of prevailing wage rates, and maintaining compliance with various contract requirements. This role is deeply involved in processing weekly prevailing wage payroll and addressing all compensation matters related to payroll processing.

Responsibilities:

• Manage weekly prevailing wage payroll processing on online tracking platforms to ensure compliance.

• Address and resolve all compensation matters related to payroll processing including prevailing wage, manual checks, certified payrolls, audits, and inquiries.

• Collaborate with branch office administration for the daily administration of prevailing wage payroll processing of timecards.

• Maintain accurate calculations of prevailing wage rates.

• Assist and liaise with Managers and Project Managers in complying with various prevailing wage contract requirements.

• Coordinate with payroll personnel for the allocation of correct rates, fringes, reporting classifications, and holiday schedules.

• Handle all matters related to Prevailing wage/Public work compliance like Certified payroll, LCP Tracker, Elations, Points North, and hours reporting.

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, About Time, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Auditing to perform daily tasks.

• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Exhibit strong multitasking abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll related role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now

• Knowledge of Ceridian, Dayforce, and About Time

• Ability to perform accounting functions with precision

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Ability to conduct accurate auditing

• Understanding of benefit functions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll and tax regulations

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
