Robert Half Senior Estimator in Canastota, New York

Description

We are providing an opportunity for a Estimator situated in Canastota, New York, United States. This role belongs to the construction industry and extends a contract to hire employment opportunity. As an Estimator, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and prepare detailed bids. This involves understanding the project requirements by analyzing proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents and working in collaboration with a team of estimators.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to comprehend the project and subsequently prepare a detailed estimate.

• Assess documents, blueprints, and project plans to ensure all bid requirements are met.

• Distribute relevant drawings and specifications to all subcontractors during the bid process.

• Calculate the time, labor, material, and product costs to determine the overall cost of the project.

• Prepare and present written proposals, cost estimates, and budgets for clients and other stakeholders.

• Foster relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, contractors, engineers, shop personnel, and project team members.

• Manage some material ordering and distribute drawings to the appropriate personnel.

• Utilize MS Office with a focus on Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Implement knowledge of ERP.

• Handle inventory ordering.

Requirements

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge and usage of Costpoint

• Proficient in Deltek and Deltek Vision

• Experience with About Time software

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Background in Auditing

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

• Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
