Description
Our construction company is seeking a proactive Payroll Clerk with experience using Paycom software. This role involves managing payroll operations, assisting with timekeeping, and ensuring the confidentiality of all payroll-related data. We are looking for an individual who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
Manage company payroll using Paycom system.
Maintain accurate tracking of employee hours by collaborating with relevant department heads and managers.
Provide timely and accurate processing of direct deposit and check payments.
Assist with setting up employee benefits, deductions, and taxes in the payroll system.
Review time sheets, wages, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
Prepare reports for upper management, finance department, and auditors.
Validate reports for tax withholding, pay liabilities, and garnishments.
Resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and accurately.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Assist with other accounting or human resources tasks as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is a plus.
Experience using Paycom payroll software is required.
Proven experience as a payroll clerk in the construction industry preferred.
Familiarity with general accounting principles.
Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
A strict adherence to confidentiality and professionalism.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting set deadlines.
