Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Carrollton, Texas

Description

Our construction company is seeking a proactive Payroll Clerk with experience using Paycom software. This role involves managing payroll operations, assisting with timekeeping, and ensuring the confidentiality of all payroll-related data. We are looking for an individual who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage company payroll using Paycom system.

  • Maintain accurate tracking of employee hours by collaborating with relevant department heads and managers.

  • Provide timely and accurate processing of direct deposit and check payments.

  • Assist with setting up employee benefits, deductions, and taxes in the payroll system.

  • Review time sheets, wages, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance department, and auditors.

  • Validate reports for tax withholding, pay liabilities, and garnishments.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and accurately.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

  • Assist with other accounting or human resources tasks as needed.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is a plus.

  • Experience using Paycom payroll software is required.

  • Proven experience as a payroll clerk in the construction industry preferred.

  • Familiarity with general accounting principles.

  • Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • A strict adherence to confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting set deadlines.
