Robert Half Staff Accountant in Casa Grande, Arizona
Are you an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy? Robert Half has an exciting opportunity at a rapidly-growing organization in the Non-Profit industry for a Staff Accountant. Set in the Casa Grande, Arizona area, the company offering this short-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity encourages innovation and rewards effort in the work place. The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You'll also review schedules for the reporting processes, stay in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and play an active role in compliance.
What you get to do every day
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Strong familiarity with Government Grants
Comprehensive knowledge of fund accounting
Knowledge of contracts
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
