Description

Robert Half is searching for an efficient Staff Accountant for a well-known, expanding organization in the Events/Exhibitions industry. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will report to the accounting manager, and you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in SOX compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the 10Q and 10K reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce financial statements, cash flow projections, and budgets. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. How you will make an impact

  • Record fixed asset transactions, post monthly depreciation, reconcile Fixed asset and accumulated depreciation accounts, and assist with annual fixed asset audit.

  • Work with project managers to maintain organization and timely submission of PO’s, receipts, and invoices pertaining to project costs.

  • Assist with monthly billing

  • Complete bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts with resolution of reconciling items in a timely manner. This includes identifying lost checks and unposted journal entries, duplicate items, etc.

  • Assist with month end process which may include posting purchase order accruals, month end labor accruals, overhead and other job cost allocations for multiple divisions.

  • Support gathering data for Audits, tax returns, etc.

  • Research, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.

    Requirements

  • 2+ years of accounting experience required

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

  • Strong analytical skills in basic accounts payable and accounting policy

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Program skills

  • Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Wide ranging experience with financial statement preparation

  • Expense and Balance Reconciliation experience
