Robert Half Senior Analyst, Investment Accounting Policy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Senior Analyst, Investment Accounting Policy in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. This position is crucial in the field of investment reporting and disclosures, serving as a technical resource for investment assets and derivatives under IFRS Statutory US GAAP and Solvency II.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a point of contact with external auditor US Corporate Accounting policy Group Accounting Policy and internal controls
• Provide technical accounting guidance related to Investment Reporting Disclosures
• Monitor and implement new accounting and disclosure guidance under IFRS Statutory US GAAP and Solvency II
• Conduct accounting research, interpreting guidance and applying it as part of creating or reviewing an accounting or reporting position for unique asset/derivative types or transactions
• Maintain and organize the US Accounting Policy Manual for Investments
• Draft and update accounting reporting policies and position papers for Investment assets and derivatives under all bases of accounting
• Collaborate with other departments/divisions to ensure business issues are resolved for the success of the organization
• Create or review error/issue papers, including root cause analysis remediation plan and recommended control updates
• Assist with quarterly or annual reporting. Requirements • Extensive knowledge in Investment Accounting and Corporate Accounting
• Proficiency in US GAAP and IFRS Accounting principles
• Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing financial notes and disclosures
• Ability to conduct thorough research and perform root cause analysis
• Proven skills in reporting, planning, and policy implementation
• Previous experience with quarterly and annual reports
• Familiarity with derivatives, technical accounting, and statutory reporting
• Experience with monitoring tools and internal control systems
• Ability to handle investment accounts and understand investment principles
• Competence in planning, executing, and reviewing remediation plans
• Excellent skills in drafting policy papers and other official documents
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or similar is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in the financial services industry.
