Robert Half Tax Director/Manager - Corporate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Description We are inviting applications for a Tax Director/Manager - Corporate to join our team based in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, United States. In this role, you will be at the heart of our financial services operations, developing and executing tax strategies, overseeing tax reconciliations, and providing strategic tax guidance on corporate transactions. Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive tax strategies to minimize the company's tax obligations while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

• Lead the tax team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.

• Collaborate with various teams, including business units, legal, finance, and executive leadership, to align tax strategies with overall business objectives.

• Manage and ensure high-quality outcomes across income, sales, and property tax life cycles.

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their potential impact on the company's operations, and recommend adjustments to tax strategies.

• Offer strategic tax guidance on corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures to mitigate tax risks and maximize financial benefits.

• Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

• Prepare and present clear tax reports and updates to the executive team and board of directors.

• Collaborate with the Accounting Team to implement and maintain internal controls and procedures for accurate tax and financial reporting.

• Oversee the organization’s informational reporting obligations, such as W-9 and 1099.

• Foster an environment of continuous improvement in process efficiency and performance effectiveness.

• Manage the performance and career development of tax team leaders. Requirements • Must have extensive experience in Corporate Taxation

• Proven expertise in Annual Income Tax Provision

• Proficiency in various tax domains such as Corporate, Sales & Use, Property, Research & Planning

• Excellent leadership skills with experience in managing a team

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Solid understanding of financial services industry and relevant tax laws

• High level of integrity and professional ethics

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Proven track record of developing strategic tax planning initiatives

• Ability to liaise effectively with internal departments and external agencies

• Advanced proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
