Robert Half is looking for a CFO to join our client! The ideal CFO will have excellent analytical, strategic-planning, operational and communication skills, including an ability to work well with the President and other senior leaders. Our client is a very successful, family owned, multi entity organization!! Their CFO of 20+ years is retiring leaving big shoes to fill. This role will not only guide the ship financially but also be tasked with mentoring and coaching accounting and finance team. Leadership skills are criteria #1 followed by a relationship builder who is an open communicator across the organization and with external entities (banks, attorneys etc). The ability to offer business analysis and insight is another critical piece to this hire. People, process and product is what they preach along with understanding the bigger picture. Having specific examples in growing a company, improving their dollars and culture would be expected!! BS in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA is nice to have!! Candidates with a combination of industry and public accounting knowledge are preferred. Are you an experienced CFO looking for a challenging role at an established company? What you get to do every day

  • Manage the relationship with independent auditors

  • Have staff comply with state and federal laws and company's policies

  • Examine the organization's operations and determine if cash flow is appropriate

  • Strategically manage the accounting and finance functions

  • Manage upgrades and implementations for financial systems

  • Leadership, management, hiring and training for accounting and finance staff

  • Identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements

  • Manage relationships with external professionals

  • Manage internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures

  • Manage vendor relationships

  • Supervise all personnel in the finance department

  • Maintain the integrity of a company's financial information and suggest improvements

    Requirements - Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

  • Public accounting experience a plus

  • 5+ years' management experience

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • 10+ years' experience in accounting or finance

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards

  • MBA, CPA, CGMA or CMA preferred

  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills required
