Robert Half is supporting the recruiting efforts of a company in the government industry to find an Accounting Manager. This is a full time, permanent position in Centennial. It is hybrid, and is paying $100-120k . Additional information and job requirements are below. Responsibilities:

• Develop and administer citywide policies and procedures related to both operating and capital budgets.

• Provide strategic guidance for the effective management of city's financial resources.

• Oversee the system for assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of programs in financial terms.

• Supervise and lead assigned staff, focusing on staff development, training, and performance improvement.

• Serve as the technical resource on accounting matters, including the interpretation and implementation of accounting standards.

• Lead the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.

• Prepare, review, and verify financial documents such as monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and make necessary corrections or adjustments.

• Monitor and analyze account balances and financial reports, preparing narrative explanations for internal and external use.

• Oversee the reconciliation of bank and investment accounts, and manage other banking functions as assigned.

• Manage the financial software system, including roles, processes, and workflows.

• Stay updated on trends and developments in governmental accounting, sales tax, grant administration, and financial reporting, proposing measures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Review fund activities for compliance with state and local laws, codes, and regulations.

• Coordinate and prepare for annual independent audits, including the development of the Single Audit Report, audit confirmations, and client-prepared schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business required

• 7+ years in accounting

• 3+ years in a supervisory role

• Strong GAAP

• Strong GASB

• Strong MS Excel
