Job Description:
Oversee and manage the administration of sales and use tax within the jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue collection from sales and use taxes.
Analyze financial data and trends to forecast revenue projections and identify potential areas for improvement.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure accurate reporting and timely remittance of sales and use taxes.
Conduct audits and investigations to identify discrepancies and address issues related to sales and use tax compliance.
Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret tax laws and regulations and provide guidance on compliance matters.
Develop and maintain relationships with businesses and taxpayers to facilitate voluntary compliance and address concerns.
Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations at the state and federal levels and implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
Prepare and present reports to senior management and elected officials on revenue performance and compliance activities related to sales and use taxes.
Supervise and mentor staff responsible for sales and use tax administration, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operations.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business
5+ years as a sales & use tax revenue manager
3+ years experience in budgeting
