Description

We are currently looking for an Accounting- Payroll Clerk for our client in Cerritos.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for generating new staff letters and ensuring all new staff paperwork is completed by employees in a timely and accurate manner. Performs a wide variety of onboarding, personnel document review, and payroll processing activities including updating payroll system with personnel action changes, preparing bi-weekly payrolls, recording payroll deductions, processing calculations for manual checks, processing terminations and other assigned payroll and accounting responsibilities. This position is 30% Onboarding, HR Administration and Payroll and 70% Accounting and AP responsibilities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Responsible for onboarding new staff and maintaining and updating employee files, including information on terminations, and changes.

§ Generate new staff letters and ensure all new staff paperwork is completed by employees and hiring managers in a timely manner. Frequent communication with managers and HR regarding status of documents.

§ Responsible for preparing final check calculations.

§ Audit and maintain new staff forms and onboarding requirements in ADP employee profiles.

§ Assist with tracking and maintaining current licensing information in ADP for a variety of clinical roles.

§ Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.

§ Post payroll related entries to the general ledger, accounting software, and reconcile payroll accounts, as necessary.

§ Process bi-weekly payrolls in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and company guidelines.

§ Assist with administration of employee health benefits and 401k enrollments, payment submission, changes, terminations.

§ Setup new payroll tax jurisdictions and works with government agencies.

§ Post benefit and payroll fee related invoices to AP & GL Accounting modules.

§ Assist Accounts Payable department at month end with invoice input, reconciliations, and other tasks.

§ Assist Accounting Department with employee expense report auditing in expense system.

§ Compile, organize and prepare deposits for remote deposit capture machine.

§ Enter bank deposit information into various spreadsheets.

§ Assist managers, supervisors and office staff with administrative and special projects or tasks.

§ Box up year-end AP and Accounting files for storage.

§ Assist accounts payable team with copying, scanning, and filing invoices and expense reports.

§ Administrative duties for general office management.

§ Copying, scanning, filing, organizing of Personnel and/or Accounting Dept documents.

Requirements

§ High school graduate or equivalent.

§ AA Degree in Accounting and/or coursework equivalent.

§ BS Degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.

§ One to three years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate office environment

§ One to three years of experience in a human resources or payroll department.

§ ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.

§ Experience with Sage Intacct or other accounting software.

§ Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word user is required.
