Robert Half Payroll Manager/Director in Cerritos, California
Description Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Payroll Manager position. This Payroll Manager will help achieve standards that are necessary for growth within the financial department and will be responsible for work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. Supervise and coach payroll clerks and assistants
Handle payroll tax audits and collaborate with auditors
Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)
Arrange payroll systems and timekeeping
Regulate system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)
Engage with accounting and Human Resources (HR) teams
Follow internal policies and act in accordance with relevant laws
Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions
Manage the accuracy of records and prepare reports Requirements - Organizational and leadership skills
Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
Knowledge in compliance
Proficiency in payroll applications
Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
Sound written and verbal communication skills
5+ years of payroll experience
Trained in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
CPP, CPM, or other related detail oriented certifications is a plus
