Robert Half Staff Accountant in Chanhassen, Minnesota
Description Robert Half is offering a permanent position for a skilled Staff Accountant to join their dynamic, rapidly-growing team in the Real Estate & Property industry. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Chanhassen, Minnesota area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Key responsibilities
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP Requirements - 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Deep understanding of Journal Entry
General ledger experience
Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
