THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Controller for our industrial services client located in East Houston. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO EVERY DAY

  • Oversee the company's accounting operations including the production of periodic financial reports and maintenance of accounting records.

  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report and monthly, quarterly or annual financial statements.

  • Support month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Collaborate with external auditors for annual audit and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.

  • Manage a team of accounting staff ensuring that all financial transactions are executed and documented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Work closely with executive leadership and department heads to assist in the development of budgets and financial planning.

    Requirements

HOW YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly desirable.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in the construction or industrial services industry.

  • Proven knowledge and expertise in Accounting, financial reporting, budgeting forecasting, and auditing.

  • Exceptional leadership abilities, with experience overseeing a team of employees.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to present financial information to non-financial colleagues.
