Description
Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Controller in the hospitality industry. This role is 100% onsite in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors in accounting and several years of supervisory experience. The primary responsibilities include executing comprehensive property accounting activities such as cash position analysis, account reconciliation, and reporting. The Property Controller is responsible for maintaining the balance sheets, reviewing payrolls, approving wire transfers for payrolls and accounts payable, and managing intercompany balances. Additional duties will include performing bad debt analysis, prepare monthly financial statements and reports for banks, as necessary. The Property Controller also is involved in year-end and bank audits and operational performance audits which might include site visits.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable
• Handle monthly closing processes and general ledger activities
• Develop and implement effective budgeting processes
• Conduct regular audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements on a monthly basis
• Manage payroll functions including the calculation of commission and bonuses
• Utilize Sage 100 for various accounting tasks
• Analyze and manage bad debt
• Oversee the maintenance and posting of maintenance fees for all properties
• Conduct pricing analysis and room analysis as required
• Review and balance loan servicing for notes receivable as part of monthly closing process
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
• Proven expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrable skills in auditing and budget processes
• Proficiency in month-end close procedures
• Extensive knowledge of the General Ledger
• Experience in financial statement preparation
• Background in Commissions Accounting
• Proficiency in handling payroll functions
• Proficiency in using Sage 100 software
• Prior experience in hospitality industry
