Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the hospitality industry, located in Charleston, South Carolina. As a Staff Accountant, your role will involve maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and providing financial support to our team. This role is a crucial part of our accounting department and plays a significant role in maintaining the financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily processing and balancing of revenue reports, ensuring accuracy
• Oversee daily cash flow, manage multiple bank reconciliations, petty cash, deposits, and credit card fee calculations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries
• Process weekly check runs and monitor payments to ensure timely payments and strong cash flow
• Prepare and submit monthly sales tax reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Administer company credit card programs and manage chargeback disputes, ensuring timely resolution of any discrepancies
• Track accounts receivable and ensure timely payments to the hotel
• Provide financial support to team members and other departments, addressing financial inquiries and assisting with ad-hoc requests
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, contributing to special projects as needed
• Respond to internal and external inquiries, resolve financial issues, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the hotel industry
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance and management
• Capability to prepare and record Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with Infor M3 accounting software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
